Expert mode

From iSee Wiki

The expert mode allows the user to extend the amount of tools available for the analysis of the contents of any datapack.

Note: The following instructions only applies to the standalone version (offline) of the iSee datapacks, accessible using the free ICM-browser program.

For instance, one can easily interrogate the datapack about an especific residue of interest by accessing the full sequence of the structure and select it for display.

All this is possible due to the nature of the ICM-Browser, which has been designed with the specialist and the non-specialists in mind. For further information on how to use the expert features of ICM-Browser, please refer to the Help section, in the ICM-browser program itself.

To activate the expert mode: find the 'default layout' button (aka. 'expert mode' button) and click on it.

Then your ICM-Browser will show further options and tools. Different windows can be activated using the 'window' in the top menu.

In the example above, you can see

  • several additional buttons on the top (not all will be accessible)
  • Left panel (also called workspace panel) where you can see all the components of a datapack. You can expand/collapse any component as needed (give it a play!). Especially useful is expanding the sequence of your structure and also checking the 2D representation of any chemical compounds (when applicable)
  • Central panel has our HTML documents with the links
  • Right panel has the 3D interactive window
  • further down you have the command line window
  • bottom panel is showing a sequence alignment

All these panels can be moved around (drag-and-drop), so you can rearrange them as you like.

Please see the ICM-browser documentation (under 'help' on the program itself) for further details.
